Our Server Infrastructure Has Been Renewed: A Faster Kanveay
📅 1 August 2026 · Infrastructure update — faster pages, a steadier connection, your data entirely intact.
In the last days of July we renewed, from top to bottom, the server infrastructure Kanveay runs on. Work like this usually stays "invisible" to players — nobody should have to care about database settings or operating system versions. But its results are very visible: how fast pages open, how long the battle result screen takes to arrive, whether the game can breathe during a busy evening. In this piece we explain as plainly as we can what we did and why, what changed on your side and, most importantly, what did not change.
🔧 What did we do?
Kanveay has grown over the years: new content was added, the number of players rose, and the battle records, messages and inventory rows in the database reached into the millions. The old infrastructure carried that load, but our measurements showed it approaching its limit at peak hours. As part of the renewal we moved the game to a stronger server setup, serviced and tightened the database, brought the server software up to current and supported versions, and strengthened our backup arrangement. The migration was timed for the hours of lowest player traffic; apart from brief interruptions in access, the game was never down. Most players will only learn about the move from this news item — and that is exactly the best possible outcome for an infrastructure job.
There is a security dimension to this work too. Out-of-date server software means not just slowness but an open door. With the renewal, security patches were applied in full and a maintenance schedule was established to keep the system regularly up to date. The protection systems described in our fair play and account security announcement run on this solid ground.
⚡ What will you notice as a player?
- Faster pages. Kanveay is a browser-based game; every action is a page request. As the server's response time shortens, so does the wait between a hunt, a dungeon run and an arena battle. The difference is felt especially in sessions where you take many actions in a row.
- Stability at peak hours. The occasional slowdowns and rare timeout errors in the evening were the main target of the move. The new setup handles that load comfortably.
- A smoother mobile experience. A significant share of our players play Kanveay on a phone. The improvement in page response time is even more noticeable in a mobile browser and inside the app.
- Safer backups. Backup frequency and retention were strengthened. That means player data is protected even in an extraordinary situation.
🗄️ Your data is safe: what did not change?
This is the most critical heading. During the migration no player data was lost and no balance value was altered:
- Your account, your username and your e-mail verification stand exactly as they were.
- Your gold, diamonds, level and total experience were preserved unchanged.
- Every item in your inventory, including what you are wearing, is in its place.
- Clan memberships, clan treasuries and world boss progress were unaffected.
- Your Well and Dark Lair depth records, your bestiary and your quest progress all carried over in full.
Infrastructure work never touches game balance: the cost of hunting, training prices, reward rates — those are a separate matter, and if they are ever going to change, it is explained in an announcement of its own.
⏳ Was your offline progress affected by the move?
No — and the reason is that Kanveay's time-based systems run on server time. Your resources accumulate while you are away; the server calculates the elapsed time when you return. That clock did not slip during the renewal, so nobody lost any accumulation. As a reminder, the basic regeneration rates are:
| Resource | Regeneration rate | Note |
|---|---|---|
| ⚡ Energy | +1 every 60 seconds | The cap rises with your level |
| 🗺️ Quest points | +1 every 10 minutes | Spent entering dungeons and raids |
| ❤️ Health | 12 saniyede +1 | Health drops only in battle |
The same principle applies to the longer-running systems: a mine shift continues even if you log out, and you collect your earnings when the time is up; your ritual power accumulates on its own over time. Premium membership speeds up energy and quest point regeneration, but the basic rule is the same for everyone: time works for you. The details of these systems are in the Dungeons & PvE guide, and resource management tactics in the Economy guide.
🌐 Why speed matters so much: the nature of a browser game
Kanveay's genre — browser-based, text-led role-playing — has a special relationship with speed. There is no enormous downloaded client; every hunt, every dungeon room, every arena battle is a request the browser sends to the server and a result the server returns. The beauty of that architecture is that the game runs on any device, even the cheapest phone. The price is this: the game's "smoothness" depends entirely on the server's response time. There is no graphics setting you can lower to speed it up; the speed is directly the quality of our infrastructure. That is why an infrastructure investment counts as the equivalent of a graphics update in a browser game — it improves the very texture of the game.
One more detail: a fast server also reduces accidental double actions. A player who gets a slow response pressing the button a second time is a classic problem; Kanveay already has server-side double-click protection on critical actions — the same action is never processed twice — but pages responding quickly means never getting into that situation at all. The result: less confusion and less worry about "did my energy go twice?"
💬 Frequently asked questions about the move
- Did my mine shift burn during the migration? No. Shifts are recorded with their start time; the duration ran on server time and the earnings of completed shifts were collected normally. The only thing that burns gold is, as always, ending a shift early of your own accord.
- Was my premium period affected? No. Premium membership runs by day and on server time; the move did not touch the duration.
- Was my ritual power accumulation reset? No. Accumulation is calculated from a timestamp; it continued from where it left off.
- What about my depth records and my bestiary? They are permanent records and carried over in full. You can see everything in its place on the rankings page.
- Were my purchases and diamond balance affected? No. Balances carried over in full along with all other account data; if you see any inconsistency in your records, report it through support and we will verify it from the transaction history within minutes.
- Do I need to change my password? You do not; the move did not touch account details. Even so, if you have a weak password it is worth changing today — we explained why in our security announcement.
🛠️ From here on: maintenance windows
The big move is done; from here on it is regular maintenance. From time to time you may see brief maintenance windows — for a security patch, database servicing or small improvements. We keep those windows as short as possible and place them at low-traffic hours. If maintenance long enough to affect play becomes necessary, we will give notice in advance through an in-game System announcement. During planned maintenance your mine shift and resource accumulation keep running; rest easy on that.
📋 Behind the scenes: how is a migration planned?
For the curious, let us also describe how a job at this scale runs — because the sentence "we moved the server" says little about the weeks of preparation behind it. The order we followed was roughly this:
- Inventory. A complete list of everything to be moved was drawn up: the database, the files, the scheduled jobs, the e-mail setup, the security rules. What gets lost in a migration is usually what was "not on the list"; that is why the list is half the job.
- A full backup. A verified backup of everything was taken before the switch — no permanent operation is ever performed without a backup; that is our unbreakable rule.
- A rehearsal. The migration was first carried out in a test environment; that the game worked completely in the new setup was verified page by page.
- The switch. The real switch was made at the hour of lowest traffic and kept as short as possible.
- Verification and monitoring. In the days after the switch, error logs and response times were watched closely; any rough edges we had missed were caught and fixed in that window.
We are still monitoring: page response times, error rates and peak-hour load are now indicators we check regularly. If there is a regression, we should notice it before the players do — that is the goal.
❓ Seeing a problem?
If you notice a fault we missed after the migration — a page that will not open, an unexpected error message, a strange delay — telling us is the greatest help. You can look first at the technical problems section of the FAQ; if it is not there, just open a ticket through in-game support. Saying which page, at what time and on which device the problem occurred will speed up the fix.
This renewal is part of our long-term view of Kanveay: the game will keep growing, and the infrastructure will always stay a step ahead of that growth. For the next fruit of the same outlook, take a look at our LOCA 101 announcement.
