World Boss Guide
Your clan's common enemy: everyone strikes, and the gold pool is split by the damage dealt.
In most of Kanveay's content you are on your own: you gather your own loot on a hunt and chase your own record in a dungeon. The world boss is the opposite — an enormous enemy that cannot be beaten alone and can only be brought down by a clan's shared effort. In this guide we go step by step through how the boss works, what an attack costs, how damage is calculated, how the reward pool is distributed and what tactics your clan can use to get the most out of this content.
🐲 What is the world boss?
The world boss is clan-specific PvE content. There is no single shared monster the whole server hits; every clan has its own boss, and only that clan's members can attack it. Wearing the boss down, growing the reward and celebrating the kill are entirely internal clan affairs. The nice part of this design is that every clan, large or small, moves at its own pace; nobody lives in another clan's shadow.
The boss screen shows a huge health bar, the gold reward pool, the total damage you have dealt to that boss so far and the clan's internal damage ranking. The goal is simple: strike together, empty the bar, take your share of the pool.
🏰 Prerequisite: being in a clan
A player without a clan meets only an invitation on the world boss screen: "Join a clan first." This content cannot be played at all without clan membership. If you do not have one yet, you can join a clan of your race or save enough gold to found your own. For details on race choice, the cost of founding a clan and roles inside one, see the Clans guide.
The boss is ready the moment you join: if your clan has never killed one, a new boss appears at level one; if it has, you see the current boss carried over from where they left off. There is no extra unlock condition, level requirement or waiting period.
🗡️ Attacking: cost and mechanics
Every attack on the boss costs 25 energy. No quest points are spent, your health does not drop and your attack is never wasted: there is no missing, no whiffing and no defeat against a world boss. Every time you press the attack button you tear a guaranteed slice off the boss's health. In that sense the world boss is the most direct way to turn your energy into clan contribution and experience without risk.
Every attack also grants experience. In Kanveay the experience of all content is tied to a single measure: the XP value of the energy you spend. A 25-energy boss attack yields XP in the same class as any other action performed with that same energy — so while you strike the boss for your clan, your character keeps growing too. And there is no restriction either: you can attack the boss even while your character is on a mine shift, because the shift runs in the background.
📐 The damage formula: your stats do the talking
The damage you deal has two parts. The first is your stats: the sum of strength, defence, accuracy, endurance and intelligence is multiplied by a factor that varies between 10 and 18 on each attack. The second is your level: thirty times your character level is added directly to the result. That stat sum includes not only your bare stats but the contribution of the gear you are wearing and any active boosts on you at that moment — the real values you take into battle are what count. If you are curious about the stats' roles in combat and how combat power is calculated, the Combat System guide is the place to look.
Let us make it concrete with a few examples:
| Stat total | Level | Damage range per attack |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | 10 | 1.300 – 2.100 |
| 300 | 25 | 3.750 – 6.150 |
| 800 | 60 | 9.800 – 16.200 |
The lesson from the table is clear: the road to bigger boss damage runs through stat training. For training costs and where to put your gold most efficiently, see the advice in the Economy guide. There is also an elegant way to raise your stats temporarily right before attacking: setting off a ritual. With the ritual bonus active your stat total grows, so every boss strike lands harder — the details are in the Ritual guide.
💰 The reward pool: a share proportional to damage
When the boss's health hits zero the gold pool opens and is distributed to every clan member who struck the boss at least once, in proportion to the total damage they dealt. The formula is transparent: your share = pool × (your damage ÷ the clan's total damage). The reward is gold only; no diamonds are handed out from a boss pool.
An example: your clan brings down a boss with a pool of 580,000 gold, having dealt 1,000,000 damage in total. If 250,000 of that was yours, your share is a quarter of the pool, or 145,000 gold. Even a member who struck once for 4,000 damage does not go home empty — they get a small but real share. This system has two important consequences:
- Contribution is never wasted. The more you strike, the bigger your share; but the effort of someone who struck little is not erased either.
- The last hit is not special. It does not matter who brings the boss down; what matters is your place in the total damage table. Steady contribution beats a race to "steal the killing blow".
⚡ Energy economy and level synergy
The real limit on your boss contribution is energy, so knowing the energy maths feeds straight into the damage table. Energy refills 1 point every 60 seconds; a single 25-energy attack takes 25 minutes to come back through natural regeneration alone. Once a day you can refill your energy fully for gold (premium members get this twice a day); on the days your clan is closing in on a kill, spending that refill on the boss rather than on hunting seriously grows your contribution.
There is a sweet synergy too: because boss attacks earn XP, you may well level up during a long run of attacks — and levelling up refills your energy completely. So a boss session begun near a level threshold can be rewarded with a free energy bar halfway through. A player who watches the threshold can leave two bars' worth of damage in a single sitting and make a real difference in the damage table.
🔁 Rebirth: every boss is stronger than the last
The moment a boss dies the rewards are handed out and a new boss appears immediately — the clan is never left without one. But each new boss is born one level stronger than the last: both its health and its reward pool rise by 80,000 per level. So every boss your clan cuts down makes the next one both tougher and more profitable.
| Boss level | Health | Gold pool |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 380.000 | 580.000 |
| 5 | 700.000 | 900.000 |
| 10 | 1.100.000 | 1.300.000 |
| 20 | 1.900.000 | 2.100.000 |
Because the pool grows along with the health, the content never reaches a point where it "is not worth it any more"; it simply takes longer to bring down. Bosses appear under different names — the Seer Hunter, the Blood Queen, the Moon Bard — but the rules are the same; the name is only flavour, the maths is constant.
🏆 The clan damage ranking
At the bottom of the boss screen sits a table showing the top 10 members by damage dealt to the active boss: rank, member name, total damage and number of strikes. The first three places are dressed with medals and your own row is highlighted. That table is not decoration; it is the reward maths itself — the higher up you are, the bigger the slice you take from the pool. It also generates some pleasant rivalry inside the clan: "you will not pass me on this boss" is among the best fuel clan chat has.
🎯 Clan tactics
- Plan your energy. Every attack asks 25 energy, and your energy cap grows with your level. With a full bar you can make many attacks in a row; on boss days, saving your energy for the boss instead of splitting it with hunting visibly grows your contribution.
- Get stronger before you strike. The ritual bonus, stat potions and your best gear all enlarge the stat total in the damage formula. The same 25 energy tears a far bigger slice off for a prepared character.
- Encourage everyone to land at least one strike. The only condition for a share of the pool is having struck the boss. Even a single attack by a new or low-level member earns them a share and strengthens their sense of belonging.
- Get organised as the boss level climbs. The first bosses fall to a few willing members; in the twenties the whole clan needs to strike regularly. Building the boss into the clan's daily routine is the healthiest approach.
- You can strike from the mine too. A shift locks no action page; it runs in the background. Setting up a long mine shift and hammering the boss at the same time is the easiest way to benefit from both contents at once.
⚠️ Details worth knowing
- Your health does not drop in a boss attack; this is not a combat simulation but a contribution system with guaranteed damage.
- The pool share is paid in gold only; no diamonds come out of a boss.
- Your damage record is per boss: when a new boss appears, the damage table starts from zero.
- If you leave the clan your access to the boss screen closes; your membership must continue for you to contribute.
- Two attacks cannot be sent at once; the system counts a double click as a single attack, so your energy is not burned unfairly.
