Dungeons and PvE Content
Hunting, the Dark Lair, the Well, raids, the world boss, rituals and the mine.
In Kanveay you can grow without ever attacking a real player. PvE (player versus environment) content is the main source of gold, experience and loot. Each one has its own cost, risk and reward; which you pick depends on the energy you have and what you need at that moment.
🎯 Hunting
The most basic content. It costs little energy and pays a small but steady reward. You pick your prey in the night streets, fight a short battle and earn experience and gold. Ideal for beginners, and at higher levels it is the right thing to do with a little leftover energy. Because the risk is low it is relatively safe even when your health is down.
🕯️ Dark Lair
You descend into the depths of a cursed dungeon. Each descent takes you one floor lower, and the deeper you go the stronger the enemies and the bigger the rewards. The Dark Lair is one of the most efficient ways to pile up loot and gold; but if you lose, your run ends and you start again from the top.
Your depth record is permanent — losing a run does not erase the deepest floor you reached. That is why the Dark Lair offers both risk and a long-term goal.
🪣 The Well
The Well is the second floor-by-floor dungeon mode and has a different rhythm from the Dark Lair. Its cost is fixed: however deep you go, every run spends the same energy and quest points. In exchange, each floor makes the enemy a little stronger and the reward a little larger.
Chests wait on certain floors and bosses deeper down. The Well has its own depth ranking; how far you get is compared against other players. Rewards refresh weekly, which favours those who play regularly.
⚔️ Raids
Raids are built on a pick-your-prey model: among the creatures on offer, you choose the difficulty tier. Easy tiers give a high win chance but a small reward; hard tiers a low chance but a large one. For players who like to set their own risk, this is the most enjoyable content in the game.
Raids also have periodic bonuses such as the hunt of the day, plus a bestiary that records the creatures you have collected; beating a creature for the first time earns an extra reward.
💀 World Boss
An enemy too strong to beat alone. The world boss is clan-based: every clan has its own, and only that clan's members can strike it. When the boss falls, the reward pool is split according to the damage each member dealt — the bigger your contribution, the bigger your share.
This is the content that turns your clan into a real team. The boss respawns at set intervals, so the clan regularly rallies around a shared target.
🔥 Ritual
The Rite of Blood and the Ritual of the Moon are race-specific power-gathering mechanics. Your ritual power builds up on its own over time; once enough has gathered you can set it off to gain a temporary bonus to all your stats for a while, plus a large burst of loot.
When to use the ritual is a tactical decision: setting it off right before a hard dungeon run is far more profitable than firing it while idle.
⛏️ Mine
The Mine is the game's only passive content. You pick a shift and your character earns gold for the set duration. While the dig is under way you can carry on playing the rest of the game — the shift runs in the background, and on screen you see only a countdown strip.
Its most important property: the digging continues even if you log out. If you are stepping away from the computer or going to sleep, sending your character to the mine is the best way to make the time count. When the shift ends you collect your earnings.
Which content, and when?
- Low on energy: hunting.
- Building up gold: the Dark Lair, the Well, raids.
- Playing with your clan: the world boss.
- Before a big run: set off a ritual and take a potion.
- Going away for a while: head into the mine.
