LOCA 101 Is Coming: The ZEGRONİ Family Is Growing
📅 10 August 2026 · New game announcement — we are building an online 101 Okey experience with the warmth of a traditional tea house.
Today we can finally share news that has been cooking for a long time: the ZEGRONİ team behind Kanveay is lifting the curtain on its second game. Its name is LOCA 101 — an online game of 101 Okey with the warmth of a tea house, where the tea is brewing and the tiles are clacking. After the dark world of vampires and werewolves, this time we are sitting at an entirely different table: wooden tables, amber lamplight, steamed-up tea glasses and a pleasant contest between four players. In this piece we explain what the new game is, why we are making it and what it means for Kanveay.
🏷️ Who is ZEGRONİ? A short family photo
Anyone who has played Kanveay for a while knows the signature at the bottom of the pages: "A ZEGRONİ production." ZEGRONİ is the parent brand behind Kanveay — the name of the idea that our games should grow as a family rather than one by one. Kanveay was the family's first game; LOCA 101 will be the second. Sharing a roof means this: the same development discipline, the same player policies, the same approach to security. Whatever you trust in Kanveay, you will trust the same in LOCA 101. The domain loca101.com is already reserved for its official site; in the stores it will appear as "Loca 101: Okey".
🁢 What is 101 Okey? For those who have never sat at the table
101 Okey is one of Turkey's most deep-rooted table games, a fixture of tea houses, family tables and holiday gatherings. It is played with numbered, coloured tiles: the aim is to build runs of consecutive tiles in the same colour, or groups of the same number in different colours, and melt your hand away. The 101 in its name comes from the score threshold needed to open for the first time — trusting your hand and opening early is one art, hoarding tiles and opening big is another. Concepts like the indicator, the joker and pairs add depth; luck deals the tiles, but the hand is almost always won by whoever has the better memory and arithmetic. That is why 101 Okey is a genuine game of skill and memory, where four people read their opponents and manage their own hand at the same time.
🏮 What will LOCA 101 feel like?
There is no shortage of digital okey games; our concern is something else: bringing the feeling of the tea house to the screen. LOCA 101's visual world is built on warm wood textures, amber lamplight and brass accents — not a cold, metallic interface but a dim and intimate place. The tables will be set in corners that evoke the rattle of backgammon and the chime of tea glasses; the halls are named in the language of that culture too: players will start in the Apprentice hall and follow a path through Journeyman, Master, Grandmaster and Pasha up to Sultan. The game is designed first for mobile, in landscape; those who want to play on desktop have not been forgotten either. Details may of course change while development continues — what we describe here is a photograph of the target, not the minutes of the final version.
☕ The tables have names too
Atmosphere lives in the details. In LOCA 101 the tables you sit at will be known not by number but by the corners of the tea house: By the Stove, By the Window, The Oriental Corner, The Divan, The Tea Hearth, The Bench and The Teapot Table. The difference between "you are expected at table 3" and "your place is ready By the Stove" sums up why we are making this game. The same care went into the hall names: the steps from Apprentice to Sultan come from Anatolia's master-and-apprentice tradition — just as respect in a tea house is earned at the table, in LOCA 101 the road is walked one tile at a time.
📚 What we learned from Kanveay carries over to LOCA 101
A second game has one great advantage over the first: an accumulated notebook of lessons. Over the years Kanveay taught us three things, and all three sit on LOCA 101's drawing board:
- A new player needs a hand. In Kanveay we added the newcomer period, the protections and the step-by-step guides over time, and every time player retention rose. That understanding will be built into LOCA 101 from day one: someone who does not know the game should be able to sit at the table without fear.
- The economy must be transparent. A game that does not hide what pays what and what costs how much earns trust. The openness we built in Kanveay with pages like the Economy guide will continue in the new game.
- Protection is part of the game. Safeguards against harassment, abuse and cheating are not patched on afterwards; they are the design itself. Kanveay's record in that area is written into LOCA 101's foundation drawings.
🛡️ Inherited from Kanveay: fair-play DNA
There is a principle we have applied without compromise in Kanveay for years: the rules of the game are enforced on the server; the client is never trusted. Whatever appears in the browser or the app, what counts is the server's reckoning. That principle carries over to LOCA 101 unchanged: tile dealing, hand evaluation and scoring will all happen on the server. Translated into a player's language: nobody can tamper with the app in their hands to see tiles, swap a hand or invent a score. Anyone curious about our escalating enforcement against multi-accounting and cheating in Kanveay can read our fair play policy — the same understanding will be at the foundation of the new game.
🚫 Let us be plain: LOCA 101 is not a gambling game
Let us answer up front the question okey raises for some players. In LOCA 101 there are no real-money prizes, no betting and no such thing as a withdrawal. Everything used at the tables is in-game virtual value with meaning only inside the game; it cannot be converted into real money in any way. What playing LOCA 101 earns you is the mastery you feel when you build a good hand and the conversation at the table — was it not the same in the tea house? This stance is not a marketing line but a design decision, and a continuation of the transparent approach we take to virtual goods in Kanveay. You can find the details of that approach on the About Us page.
🌙 So what happens to Kanveay?
Nothing — and we want to stress that. LOCA 101 is not a project stealing resources from Kanveay; it is the family growing. Kanveay's updates, balancing and content development continue as planned; only last week we renewed our server infrastructure, and that investment is itself proof of Kanveay's long future. The two games run on separate arrangements; neither one's schedule slows the other. Kanveay is your game and it will stay that way.
🏘️ Two games, one neighbourhood
Think of ZEGRONİ as an apartment building: Kanveay and LOCA 101 are two flats in the same block. In one, vampires lie in wait at midnight; in the other, tiles are lined up over afternoon tea — but the stairwell is shared. That sharing has concrete consequences for players. First, trust runs through one door: whichever of our games you are in, official announcements are made with the same seriousness, your personal data is protected with the same care, and the team will never ask you for a password or payment details. Second, experience flows both ways: every system tested in Kanveay — the protections, the support structure, the announcement discipline — goes to LOCA 101 ready-made; and whatever we develop for LOCA 101 that fits will come back to Kanveay in time. Third, everyone gains as the neighbourhood grows: the players of the two games will most likely knock on each other's doors, and the two communities will feed one another. We hope the step from Kanveay's midnight streets to LOCA 101's tea-scented hall will be as short as an open doorway.
📅 When is it coming out?
The honest answer: we are not giving a date. We all know from other games how early dates fail to hold; rather than break a promise, we choose not to make one. LOCA 101 is in active development and we will not open the door before we have done the work properly. What is certain: announcements will be published first on the News page and in the in-game System announcements; the list of our genuine accounts will always be on the Official Channels page. If you come across promises of "LOCA 101 early access" or a "pre-registration reward" through any other channel, know that it is not from us — our team never asks for a password or payment details.
❓ In brief: first answers to the first questions
- Will it cost money? You will not need to pay anything to start playing.
- Will I log in with my Kanveay account? We will clarify and announce the details of the account structure closer to release; let us not speak definitively yet.
- Will my gold or diamonds from Kanveay carry over to LOCA 101? No. Each game's economy is closed within itself; effort in one does not become an unfair advantage in the other. This is a matter of fairness to both communities.
- On which devices? Mobile first (landscape); desktop support is also on the target list.
- I do not know okey — can I learn? Yes. Letting beginners learn the game comfortably is one of the main design goals. The "nobody left outside" tradition we built in Kanveay with How to Play and the Game Guide will continue in the new game.
One last note for those reading this announcement from inside Kanveay: you can send your questions about this story through support; we will gather the common ones and add them to the bottom of this page. That way the announcement stays a living document up to release.
To everyone who loves tea house culture and whose heart warms at the sound of tiles: see you at the table. The tea is on us.
